Chakra Meditation – Introduction
Chakra Meditation, or Chakra Healing aims at looking inwards as distinct from looking outwards and looking at surroundings as we do most of the time. Looking outwards often makes us forget what we are and what we are capable of. Meditation leads to our becoming aware of our potential and capabilities or in short achieving self realization. Meditation also gives the opportunity to sift, analyze and evaluate what we learn from our experiences in everyday life, thus making it possible to assimilate the correct knowledge and discard the incorrect. Moreover, chakra meditation, or also called Chakra Balancing, reduces tensions and promotes physical and mental relaxation.
Guided audio meditations can be used to aid chakra meditation and are particularly helpful for all but the most experienced meditators.
The Seven Energy Centers and Chakra Meditation.
Quite simply, Chakra Meditation refers to the process of balancing and energizing all the 7 energy centers (Chakras) in order to align the flow of energy through them. These 7 energy centers, or the Chakras, are.

If these vital seven Chakras are rotating in sync, physical, mental, and spiritual well being is assured. Thus, you can safely conclude that Chakra Meditation is the key to overall health of your life, taken as a whole.
The synchronization of chakras promotes self healing of all physical and mental ailments.
Chakra Meditation involves three techniques in this order.
*Grounding Technique refers to the process whereby, your body feels connected with Earth. The visualization involves assuming a root growing from your body and entering into the Earth, thus, transfixing your body to the ground. With some intense focus and determination, you can achieve this state of Chakra Meditation.
*Centering Technique, which aims at preparing your body to receive the benefits of Chakra Meditation. Just take three to five deep breaths and visualize relaxation of every body part from toe to crown. In simple words, just tighten and relax each body part from toe to the crown, and then visualize the act of centering a pot on a pottery wheel.
*Relaxation Technique, which is the final step in Chakra Meditation. There is no hard and fast rule to relax your body. Everyone has his or her own method of relaxation.
One of the popular methods of Chakra Meditation is detailed below:
*Sit or lie down comfortably.
*Every stress-causing factor should be addressed and effort should be made to reduce or eliminate the stress as far as possible. Start with loosening the clothing you are wearing. Identify other similar straining factors and eliminate them. And finally, close your eyes.
*Breathe in a relaxed manner, which is neither too fast nor too slow. Let the breath come naturally!
*The next step relates to feeling every part of your body from toe to head in that direction. While your eyes are closed, try to feel everything that you would’ve seen with open eyes, like earth, air, clothes, surroundings etc. The idea is to feel awareness even with closed eyes.
*Don’t resist any thought. Let any thought come and go without disturbing you.
*Let you spirit roam in every part of your body. This is the feeling of completeness you’ve been yearning for.
This exercise can be done at any time of the day and for any duration of time. However, the longer the better!
