Yoga And Meditation

Although many people are not aware of it, the connection between yoga and meditation is quite strong. Meditation is a perfect compliment to yoga whether you are looking to increase your spiritual awareness, get in better shape or looking for a way to reduce stress. Yoga poses can help you to also achieve a deep state of meditation.

Yoga and Meditation go hand in hand and will really help to advance your spiritual growth.

Yoga really is just another form of meditation. Practicing yoga allows you to turn your attention to your body and tune into the more subtle energy that flows through your body. While many people will use yoga to increase their flexibility and strength, this is only a small part of the benefits you can get from this timeless practice. Yoga and meditation can be used together to heighten your sense of self-awareness, connect with divine energy, and build an optimal internal environment for personal growth.

Guided meditations can be used as an integral part of meditation in yoga.

Totally Tranquil Meditation

If you take a close look at the basic principals of yoga and meditation you will see that they really aren't that different. Yoga and meditation will provide a wide array of spiritual, mental and physical benefits. Yoga and meditation can both be effectively used to improve the connection between the physical world and the spiritual world. Each discipline requires you to utilize the same skill sets.

First, when learning either yoga or meditation, it is essential that you develop a sense of trust in your own inner wisdom. Although a teacher is good to help you learn yoga and meditation, it is not absolutely necessary. An experienced teacher can help you learn the fundamentals but it will ultimately be your own inner voice that will be the deciding factor in how much you benefit. It will be hard to get the best spiritual and physical benefits unless you trust in yourself.

Secondly each of these practices require a sense of mental and physical discipline. With all our obligations and stresses of daily life getting in the way of practicing yoga and meditation we must not let them get in the way of our main goals. Each one of these techniques require a certain amount of discipline. To completely enjoy all the profound benefits of your yoga and meditation sessions try to avoid missing too many sessions.

How To Master Both Disciplines

Ultimately a great deal of patience is required. Even though many benefits can be obtained form these two practices, expect it to take some time before you can develop a sense of mastery. When you first begin yoga and meditation it may feel like a waste of time but it is important to be patient to gain the full benefits. Just remember that the benefits will come, it may take days or even weeks, but they will come.

Because meditation and yoga are very similar in nature, you can get wonderful benefits from each with only a small amount of effort. In time you will learn to use both these disciplines together.  The meditative aspect of yoga makes it easy to realize substantial physical and mental benefits that will help you to improve nearly every aspect of your life.

At the minimum yoga is a good way to get your body in shape and if you learn how to meditate you will get the best of both worlds and take your personal growth to a whole new level.
